HDSH is a K12 consistent school. Currently we recruit students for kindergarten, primary school, middle school. There are also opportunities for transfer students every semester. According to the Shanghai Education Bureau, we recruit students who meet one of the following conditions :

A. Students with a Shanghai Hukou

B. Students with a non-Shanghai Hukou must meet the following requirements: applicant holds a valid Shanghai Residence Permit/Registration, a Certificate of Residence, and at least one parent holds a Shanghai Residence Permit

C. Students holds valid Mainland travel permit for a HK, Macau and Taiwan or foreign passport

No, HD Shanghai does not require any application/registration fee 

The teacher-student ratio in HD Shanghai is about 1 to 5. Each CASA class consists of a maximum of 20 students. For each primary and secondary classes, the maximum number is 25.

Based on the professional English evaluation system, HD will evaluate each student's English level before they enter the school. In particular, we carry out the level teaching in English class and bilingual teachers will improve student's academic ability as well. We customize the learning content for each child and periodically evaluate every semester, using the data to accurately guide the teaching.

At HD, our mission is to cultivate globally competitive and interest-driven talents in Chinese communities with holistic characters and strong academic foundations. We establish various after school activities (ASAs) and clubs to provide a balanced learning experience. Students are encouraged to participate in summer/winter camps or expeditions which help to develop their social abilities, team-work and perseverance. 

We believe parents are part of the school community and that communication between school and parents is vital, as we keen to meet the education needs of HD families. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our teachers or other school departments via email or phone. The PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) is also established at HD Shanghai which is a good channel for parents to make sure their voice is heard by the school. Principal’s Tea/Coffee gatherings are also held regularly to give parents the opportunities to communicate directly with the school leadership team.

We are able to offer boarding to G6 students and above grades not to kindergarten and primary students.

Yes, we provide school bus service. We have a professional school bus team with experienced drivers and bus ayis. Currently our bus routes cover most areas of the Songjiang District, and some areas of Qingpu/Minhang/Changning District. Door-to-door service is provided to many of our families but cannot be guaranteed. The school bus fee varies due to distance.

Currently HD has campuses in Ningbo, Shanghai, Beijing and Qingdao. HD schools will prioritize the internal applications under the conditions that places are available. The applicant needs to pass the entrance assessment set by each school.
